Before & After - Jeanette Burnette

Dream Makeover was introduced to area women in the February 2004 issue of Indianapolis Woman Magazine. After receiving over 400 applications to the Dream Makeover project, individuals were narrowed down to 50 semi-finalists. Each applicant entered this contest with hopes of being the lucky woman who would be chosen for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to receive this life-changing makeover. This transformation will be accomplished through the skills of a Dream Team of top area specialists, and includes facial cosmetic surgery, cosmetic dentistry, hairstyling, makeup lessons, spa treatments, a personalized fitness plan, a nutritional consultation, a new wardrobe, and a trip for two.

Dr. William Beeson, one of the area’s most sought after facial cosmetic surgeons, was selected to join the makeover Dream Team. On April 10, 2004, the 50 semi-finalists arrived at the Beeson Aesthetic Surgery Center, where they spent the next several hours with Dr. Beeson and other members of the Dream Team, participating in an intense screening process. The semi-finalists were briefed on the makeover process, and given a general overview of the medical procedures, recovery time, health issues, and necessary time commitment for the entire process. Each candidate also went through an examination process, professional imaging, and attended presentations from the participating Dream Team members to learn of the services they had to offer and what role they would play in the Dream Makeover process.

Through careful examination of each candidate, 5 finalists were chosen to attend a luncheon on April 17 at the Indianapolis Marriott North, where the winner of the Dream Makeover was selected by a panel of celebrity judges, and announced to contestants, sponsors, and family members.

A number of professionals came together to make this whole experience become a dream come true for Jeanette. Ranging from cosmetic dentistry, nutrition sessions, fitness, makeup, wardrobe, and more, Jeanette experienced a physical and emotional transformation. Jeanette Burnette, who resides in Mooresville, Indiana, was selected as the Dream Makeover finalist. “I entered this contest on a whim”, says Burnette, who turned 58 years old this year. “I was shocked when I heard my name announced at the luncheon. It still seems like a dream come true”. Jeanette currently holds two part-time jobs. Although it is hard to juggle her work and family with trips to Indianapolis, she is thrilled to be participating in this project. “The last few years have been tough, but I felt like this was exactly what I needed to turn my life around.
